Labor Day Round Up

 

 

 

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES COMING SOON 

 

The LABOR DAY ROUND UP 

A true Franklin tradition - running now for 80 years!

 

The Round Up is a family fair on Labor Day - Monday, September 1st

from 10am to 3pm, with a Parade at Noon 

 

The ROUND UP is located at the FCA Park - 10am - 3pm

The ART FAIR is on the Village Green - 10am - 5pm

The PARADE starts down Franklin Road at 12pm noon.

 

 

ROUND UP FUN ACTIVITIES:
Midway Games, with Great Prizes

Expanded Pony/ Horse Rides and Petting Farm 

Sandy Candy, Face Painting

UNLIMITED inflatables option:

(Candy Land Bounce House, Lego Obstacle Course, and Giant Corn Maze)

*NEW this year: TRAIN for the little kids

 

  

FOOD:

*NEW: the FRANKLIN CHURCH will be grilling hot dogs & hamburgers!

*NEW: The FRANKLIN EATERY & OYSTER BAR will be offering sandwiches & salads

Farmhouse Ice Cream

Interactive Circus

Bowling Ball Juggler and Roaming Clowns on Stilts

ART IN THE VILLAGE

Celebrates its 44th year!

10am-5pm

Franklin's FINE ART FAIR is located on our Village Green, in front of the Church

Featured are exceptional works in glass, pottery, fiber, furniture, jewelry, photography, painting, watercolor, wood, sculpture, metal, etc...

There will be LIVE musical performances throughout the day.  

FREE admission 

 

 

The LABOR DAY PARADE 

Starts at 12pm, noon

Parade begins 12pm and travels down Franklin Road from Evelyn Ct to Carol St.

Announcer stage is across from the post office, but people set up/watch along the entire route.

Franklin Road will be closed down from 14 Mile to Carol at 11:15am - 1:00pm

So, we encourage you to come early to park, find a spot to sit, and enjoy the parade.

On Labor Day, tickets can be purchased at Ticket Tents, by cash, check or Venmo.

 

But .... FCA Members can PRE-PAY and SKIP the line,

receive $10 off any ticket purchase of $40 or more,

AND get a free FCA tote bag - compliments of Novak Realtors.

PARKING

Parking is available along side streets and on two baseball fields

(entry points are off Wellington at Carol and at the Church)

Handicapped parking available in the Church parking lot.

FREE PARKING - donations greatly appreciated.  

 

 

VOLUNTEERS 

Volunteers are greatly needed to make our Round Up a success.

NHS STUDENTS and other groups can receive Volunteer Community Service Credit Hours.

VOLUNTEER Opportunities Include:

 

WEEK BEFORE Round Up 

We need volunteers to help line two baseball fields to create parking.

This includes hammering in wooden stakes, attaching pennant flags, & putting out signage.

Grab a friend or two or more, and let us know you that can help provide this service.

 

Saturday before Round Up SET UP - Aug 30th - 9am - 2pm

Driving GOLF CARTS is one of the fun perks of the job!

Help move things out of the barn, set up tables, chairs, garbage boxes,

put flags and signs on tents, help with the games tent, decorate the gazebo, etc...

Bagels, coffee and juice provided.

Community Service Credits: sign in/out will be available.

 

On Labor Day Monday, Sept 1st -  8am - 3pm

We need volunteers to finish Setting up, Run midway games and Give out prizes,

Help with pony rides, petting farms, and inflatables,

Sell tickets, Help with parking, Pass out water, etc...

Community Service credits:  Sign in/out will be available at Ticket Tent #1.

 

CLEAN UP on Labor Day from 3pm - 5pm

We greatly appreciate help with cleaning up.

Please come with friends and give any amount of time you can.

Many hands make light work.

Community Service credits:  DOUBLE HOURS will be given for clean up!
